Kay was nominated for a Perrier in 1998. The following year he compered the final of So You Think You're Funny and was a 'celebrity' judge for the BBC Edinburgh Comedy Award. In 2000 Kay played a host of characters in C4's That Peter Kay Thing. A development from the first episode led to the hit show “Phoenix nights” also for C4. The resulting DVD breaking sales records. His “Mum wants a Bungalow” tour (2002) broke box office records. Kay is also starring in Max & Paddy’s Road to Nowhere.
