David was also runner up of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 1999. In 2000 he did his own show, The Boy Who Saved Comedy, at the Gilded Balloon. Television credits include Couched (RTE), Virgin Laughs (UKPlay) and a short film for @Last TV based on the life of Paddy Irishman. 2000 also saw the publication of David's first book for Children, Ronan Long Gets it Wrong
